Cockroaches are one of the most common pest calls on the Sunshine Coast. Large outdoor types such as American and smoky brown cockroaches live in drains, mulch and roof spaces, then wander inside on warm, humid nights. Small German cockroaches are a different problem. They breed indoors, behind the fridge, dishwasher and oven, and numbers can climb quickly in a busy kitchen or a block of units with shared plumbing. You might also notice droppings like pepper in cupboard corners or a musty smell.
When you call, we ask where you see them, how big they are and whether they turn up during the day, which can point to a bigger indoor problem. We give you upfront pricing, then book a nearby independent crew. The crew we book will usually:
- Place gel baits in cupboard hinges, cracks and behind appliances
- Dust wall voids, the roof space and electricity box where cockroaches hide
- Spray around the outside, including drains, eaves and entry points
- Check under sinks and around the hot water system for moisture
- Point out gaps and leaks that keep cockroaches coming back
Gel baits work over a few weeks, so you may see more cockroaches for a short time as they come out to feed. That is normal. Keep benches clean, store food in sealed containers and avoid spraying your own products over the bait, which can stop cockroaches eating it. For German cockroaches, a second treatment may be worth booking, and the crew will talk you through that on the day.
